WorkplacesTake on the 30-day Experiment as a Team

Our Alcohol and Mental Health Presentation Brings you closer together - without Booze.

Stress, anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions can contribute to many people drinking as a coping mechanism.

This could impact your workplace by; reducing productivity due to absenteeism, reducing the quantity and quality of work, poor decision making and disruption to operations and co-workers covering for alcohol-affected employees.

Normalising drink cultures in the workplace has been cited as one of the reasons to drink more frequently and employers have a duty of care to promote health and well-being, amongst their workforce and we can help!

Managers' Presentations

Through interactive discussion and discovery, delegates get the opportunity to understand the impact of alcohol on the well being and mental health of their employees and how this impacts productivity in the workplace. Participants will leave the session with all the tools they require to address this complex, difficult and sensitive issue.

The workshop encourages participants to be mindful of how only moderate drinking/drug taking can impact employee and colleague well-being by looking at the impact on: the organisation, the management/employer and colleagues. The outcome is for a happier and healthier workforce who can approach the subject confidently and develop alternative coping strategies to deal with stress and anxiety surrounding the workplace.

Throughout the workshop, delegates are provided with tips and techniques for identifying concerns in the workplace and dealing with these concerns, including their legal obligations. The session will conclude with tools to improve and/or develop effective alcohol policies and procedures and how to become advocates for workplace well-being. Your managers will receive a Managing Alcohol and Drugs in the Workplace Certificate upon completion of this training.

Since the lockdown began, alcohol consumption has surged in the UK, with one study finding that 61% of Britons had increased their alcohol intake since social distancing measures were introduced. It is likely that employers and employees are experiencing a high level of stress and anxiety at the moment. The length of the lockdown has already affected people’s work and drinking habits, with many more people working from home and fewer people physically in the office.

A new study reports that approximately one third of people who were working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic was also drinking on the job. About 36% of men and 26% of women said they were drinking during work hours. Experts say alcohol consumption, while working, can affect job performance and could be noticed by employers.

Our speakers' stories will engage and inspire your workforce to try The 30 – Day Supported Sober Experiment.
