Alex is a mum of three children, an IPHM accredited training provider and an IPHM accredited and qualified coach (Level 3 Diploma in Coaching) trained in co-active coaching, focusing on realignment, building resilience and recovery.
Alex re-trained as a coach following a personal trauma which left her dishevelled, unable to face reality, and with complicated mental health concerns. Facing a rock-bottom, Alex decided to look at realigning with her core values, one of which is to help others to find the inner strength to recover.
After taking an extensive period of time off work during this difficult time, Alex started to look at how aspects of her life were no longer serving her and were impacting her mental health. Several aspects of Alex's recovery involved her decisions to remove alcohol from her life, practice self-care and mindfulness, study a diploma in alcohol and drug awareness and rediscover exercise and running.
With a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, a PGCE and over 20 years experience in teaching and education management, Alex is not only highly qualified, she also has experience of successfully managing teams in organisations using the strengths of individuals to manage performance and improve team efficacy, therefore improving performance.
Alex is also a volunteer speaker for Nacoa, to support children of alcoholic parents, something which is very close to her heart from her own childhood experiences.
